To save Krishna from being murdered by Kamsa, Vasudev somehow manages to carry baby Krishna in a basket over his head through the river Yamuna in the midst of a terrible storm. Sheshanag (the many hooded serpent) opens it's hood and shelters the baby Krishna from the storm. Vasudev leaves Krishna with Nand and Yashoda in Gokul.
