Before any wedding, women of the family get together and pound dried turmeric roots to create a powder to be used by the bride and the groom to bathe with. Also to use in the Haldi function (pellikoothuru/pellikoduku cheyyadam function). Here, 5 women are pounding dried turmeric roots, so in all 5 dolls.
